Recessed lighting fixtures have three parts - the housing, the trim and a bulb. Each part is needed to complete the fixture. When you first select products, you can shop either by the housing style or by the trim. After choosing a product, such as a specific housing, you will need to scan further down the product detail page to see the compatible trims that will work with the housing you selected. Remember to make sure the housing and trim are compatible and from the same manufacturer. Then, select the type of lighting you need, such as line voltage, low voltage (with a transformer) or fluorescent. Make sure you are purchasing both a housing and a trim piece as you will need both to have a complete fixture.
These days, traditional flashlights use batteries to power light bulbs. Depending on the type, these lights can be weak or strong, with professional quality lights putting out better beams than the cheap flashlights that you might find on the racks of a home improvement or department store. The bulbs are not terribly energy efficient, meaning that they go through batteries a lot faster than LED lights, and the bulbs burn out a lot faster than LED's as well. Overall, these are not recommended if you are buying a new flashlight. Spend a couple extra dollars on some quality gear.
Reason for such expectations among the experts in the field is that as each field would be saturated one after another, led bulbs will enter into yet another field that remains hitherto unexplored. Since they are not only less expensive but durable, they can serve multiple purposes very efficiently. In fact, they make ideal lighting system for all the public requirements including street lighting, commercial hoardings, sign boards as well as the lighting of commercial complexes.
Because illuminance changes as a function of distance, lighting an object located at a shorter distance, such as a kitchen counter, is much easier than lighting an object located far away, such as a box placed on a warehouse floor. Whereas the kitchen counter may easily achieve an illuminance of 600 lux from a single fluorescent fixture of 12,000 lumens, achieving the same value for the warehouse floor box will require either additional lights or a light containing a higher lumen value.
